Farm to Table: Embracing Fresh, Locally Sourced Food

Welcome to our new additions – 2 lovely little piglets, which we are raising to be farm to table food for ourselves and our community. This is our third batch of piglets. We started this as an experiment. we currently buy these cute little gals, feed them and when they’re about 5 months old, we do use their meat. In the past, we have shared the meat with our workers and local community.

We are building an eco farm raising meat and vegetables, farm to table. This is part of the beginnings. Every month we will buy two more piglets, and over time we will have a steady supply of sumptuous pork, which is shared with my staff and the local community. While this may seem strange to some, the methods of traditional homesteading are actually far kinder to the animals. With this method, these cute little piglets live a very happy life, eat healthily, which translates into food that we know is safe and healthy. As well this method helps us reduce our carbon footprint, which is something that is very important for our planet. Through our methods and contributions to the local community, our extended family/community able to eat healthier and adds necessary nutrients to the traditional diet rice and beans.

Stay tuned next week for an update on our other new arrivals!

as well as help the local people eat more than rice and beans!
